The Parking Space Blues
62
My....oh my,
I say with a sigh...
Why, oh why,
No matter how hard I try,
I wind up wanting to cry...
I circle around,
And around and around and around,
For the most prime parking
Space to be found.
One lap...two,
Three laps...four.
Oh just for the chance,
To be close to the door.
Oh! Someone is leaving,
I better drive fast,
To get the best parking
Space at last!
But wouldn't you know it,
It's just my luck!
Someone took it and fit,
In with their big fancy truck!
Oh my... it's getting dark,
And I've got the parking space blues.
Where will I park?
I haven't a clue.
Perhaps there's a spot,
Just next door.
In the big parking lot,
Of the hardware store.
So, I decided to
Give it a whirl.
With my hair in my fingers,
I give it a twirl.
The faster I drive,
The better the chance,
To get that prime spot,
Without even a second glance.
Winding my way,
From lane to lane,
I'm starting to wonder,
Is it worth all the strain?
The longer I drive,
The more flustered I get,
Until all at once,
The light bulb in my mind was lit!
I have an idea,
I'm sure this will work,
As I drove towards a space,
With a smile and a smirk.
Making my way,
Towards the parking space,
I grab onto the wheel,
With my fingers and brace...
Myself as I,
Drive on,
The cars already there,
Without a worry...without a care.
Finally I got,
The spot close to the door.
Time to go shopping,
In my favorite department store!

Mayyyyybeee you should give some consideration to cycling? (Wink)
A bike with a basket might be just the thing you need to drive away the blues. :)
